Deeply coloured, this wine has intoxicating aromas of violets, cassis, anise and fragrant herbs. On the palate, the wine displays ripe dark fruit, and a classic, powerful tannin structure that fills out the mouth and carries the exceptional flavours right to the back of the throat.

Wine Making:

The 2006 vintage was indeed one of the best vintages in the Okanagan. Near perfect growing conditions all season long, but especially in September and October, the key ripening months, gave wines with incredible richness and tannin structure.

The fruit for this wine was harvested on November 4th, 2006 in 4 inches of snow. The fruit was fermented at 28C and held on skins for 21 days before pressing off and transfer into French oak barriques for aging.  The wine was racked periodically and was aged for 22 months in barrels in the following manner: 14 months in 100% new French oak barrels, 8 months in older, neutral barrels. The wine was bottled in August, 2008.
